Avatars as lame as 80's music...

I attended the first session of the symposium on thursday and heard mrs. Cambell talk about the origins of the studies on religion in the internet. It was really interesting to hear about someone starting a whole realm of new study. My favorite part was seeing the primitive forms of podcasts, blogging, and church services online. The beginnings of the church services was actually quite hilarious, those preacher avatars were about as lame as 80's music. The way religion on the internet has evolved is astounding. From all text chatting to the forms of media we have now are completely different, thanks to devoted followers who swap into any new form of communication, spreading the word about their beliefs. Taking a look back into the way things used to be has made me appreciate the models we have today.
